Abstract

Few companies in Brazil implement sustainable development programs that utilize natural resources efficiently. Thus, the use of renewable energy sources has been gradually developing, and one of them is solar energy. This study aimed to analyze the reduction in the financial costs of electricity for heating water for showers and taps in a business building, through the use of one hundred flat solar collectors. Using calculations of the thermal performance of the equipment and data provided by the company, the analysis of the results showed the economic viability of the process.
