Main Article Content
Abstract
Due to its great economic and social relevance on the coast of southeastern Brazil, the fishing of the seven-beard shrimp requires constant monitoring in order to monitor the maintenance of stocks. Data on fishing productivity in the municipalities of Santos and Guarujá between 2008 and 2016 were analyzed. The analysis of the period demonstrated an increase in fishing production in 2012, with approximately 1,962 tons of seven-beard shrimp, followed by a decline until 2016 with approximately 498 tons. Due to the reduction and fluctuation of fishing productivity, further studies on fishing and monitoring of the seven-beard shrimp stocks are recommended.
