Abstract

There is a search for both domestic and foreign markets by national steel mills for the development of AHSS - Advanced High Strength Steels, used in the automotive industry for the manufacture of shock absorbers and B-pillar supports in order to minimize imports and meet the needs of the domestic market. This work aims to employ traditional mechanical tests with a focus on the tensile test to estimate the fracture toughness of an advanced high strength steel known as complex phase (CP) of the AHSS family.
