Abstract

The purpose of this study was to diagnose the environmental integrity of the Caramborê River, in the Barra do Una Sustainable Development Reserve, and to assess the feasibility of using a Rapid Assessment Protocol to characterize and diagnose the environmental integrity of rivers, by calculating the levels of stress gradient. Its application allows, in a satisfactory manner, and in a short period of time, the collection of relevant data to confirm these levels. However, they need to be adapted to each type of environment where the basin to be studied is located. The application of this methodology resulted in a regular environmental stress gradient in the evaluated environment.
