Abstract
Biological invasions are considered one of the biggest problems in relation to biodiversity conservation. This study recorded for the first time the presence of the North American rotifer Kellicottia bostoniensis in the Vila Cosmo lagoon, Cosmópolis-SP. Here, the possible means of this introduction are discussed, and it is necessary to continuously monitor the planktonic communities.
