Abstract
Considering the importance of preserved rivers in the Peruíbe region and highlighting Benthic Macroinvertebrates, this work aims to evaluate the Benthic Macroinvertebrate fauna qualitatively in the Rio da Praia do Caramborê RDS - Barra do Una Peruíbe- São Paulo. The samples were collected in a manual net with a semicircular opening, with a mesh size of 250 microns. Organisms belonging to the Subphylum Crustacea were found: Order Decapoda and Order Brachyura, Class Arachnida: Subclass Acari, Class Enthognata: Order Collembola and Class Insecta: Order Coleoptera. In only one point, no benthic organisms were found. Benthic organisms are extremely important for the functioning of aquatic ecosystems, acting in the ecological processes of energy transfer and nutrient cycling. Thus, portraying the ecological diversity of the aquatic environment because they are formed by populations of varied habitats and feeding habits.
