Abstract
The maintenance dredging of the Ports of Paranaguá and Antonina is conditioned by the Environmental Education program, which includes the traditional fishing community of Vila São Miguel, located in the municipality of Paranaguá-PR. This community does not have a basic sanitation system and one of the program's proposals was to develop a gray water filter at the school in São Miguel, through a participatory process known as a project-based approach (PBA), in order to demonstrate sustainable, low-cost alternatives for the treatment of this type of effluent. To control efficiency, monthly monitoring of the water and soil was carried out after passing through the system, the results of which demonstrated considerable efficiency for most of the parameters analyzed.
