Abstract

Brazil is considered a country with a considerable megadiversity of bats, being classified as the second richest country in the world in bat species. Bats play an important ecosystem role, both in the pollination and dispersal of several plant species, and in the control of insect pests in all biomes of Brazil. The present study aimed to carry out a pioneering inventory of the bat fauna of the village of Barra do Una located in the Sustainable Development Reserve (RDS) of Barra do Una, Peruíbe-SP, as well as to characterize the main feeding guilds. The collection points were sampled with mist nets with a sampling effort of 54 hours/net. Individuals of at least 04 species, 03 genera and 02 families (Phyllostomidae and Vespertilionidae) were captured, in which the Phyllostomidae family represented 57% of the captures and the Vespertilionidae family was represented by 43% of the captured individuals. For the feeding guilds, this study was able to sample 03 guilds: frugivores, nectarivores and aerial insectivores. The results obtained corroborate other studies carried out in the Atlantic Forest.
