Abstract
This study sought to characterize soil samples from a profile of the coastal plain, starting from Serra do Mar to the beach face, in the municipality of Bertioga, on the coast of the State of São Paulo. The survey was conducted in three areas with distinct physiognomies: Floresta Alta de Restinga, a transition area between Floresta Alta de Restinga and Floresta Swamposa; Floresta Baixa de Restinga; Vegetation of Beach and Dunes and Mangrove, at approximately 20 cm depth. The analysis found the highest water and organic matter content in Brejo de Restinga. The other results were compiled in a table, a comparative graph of the granulometry and the granulometric curve of the laboratory analyses with the quantitative analyses of water percentage and organic matter. Another aspect worth highlighting was the great granulometric similarity between the samples from Itaguaré beach.
