An analysis of the region of the municipality of Santos/SP most impacted by the irregular disposal of solid waste through the incident reports registered by the Municipal Civil Guard Luiz Bezerra dos Santos Filho, João Marcos Miragaia Schmiegelow, Fabio Giordano

Abstract

The irregular disposal of solid waste in urban areas has been responsible for environmental impacts and a consequent reduction in people's quality of life. The main objective of this study was to identify, through police reports registered by the Municipal Civil Guard of Santos, from January 2014 to August 2017, the region with the highest record of irregular disposal of solid waste. The results showed that the implementation of laws combined with greater inspection power are essential factors in reducing solid waste disposal.
