Abstract
Among the trends of rational use of resources, mainly energy, and the need to ensure productivity and quality in the execution of productive activities, the concept of intelligent building stands out. This environment materializes the concept of integration of building systems, enhancing the optimization of resources and the efficiency of human labor. In this context, conceptual approaches based on discrete event systems with application in the Matlab tool have been introduced as an effective alternative for modeling and analyzing solutions for integration of building systems. Significant results can be obtained with the application of these initiatives through the methods proposed for modeling and analyzing air conditioning management strategies, using a hybrid approach, where the aspects of discrete event systems and continuous dynamics variables are considered. However, existing approaches and methods are limited to specific implementation solutions, such as air conditioning systems with continuous air volume. Thus, this work introduces an extension of these approaches to model and analyze building automation solutions that include air conditioning systems with variable air volume. The efficiency of this method in the design and validation of these solutions is illustrated through a case study.
