Abstract
Through the analysis and presentation of data from reports by international organizations, medical opinions, lessons learned from national doctrine and, using the inductive method, this article seeks to present the reader with new perspectives on insidious persecution. It brings to light the definition and delimitation of the topic, the harm and health risks experienced by the victim and, finally, the treatment given to the phenomenon by contemporary criminal legislation.
