Abstract
Gas chromatography is an analytical technique that can be used in a variety of areas. It can be developed not only for the identification and characterization of compounds, but also for quantification and purification, since the analytical method aims to separate substances. Thus, the main objective of this study is to conduct a bibliographic review of gas chromatography in the areas of bioenergy, solid waste, soils and leachate. As a result, it can be pointed out that in the period of 10 years, there is a greater number of scientific works in the area of solid waste, as well as, in this same timeline, a progressive increase in works published in the environmental areas selected in the study.
