Abstract

This paper tested the influence on residents of condominiums, based on the optimization of the selective collection, and the consequent greater socio-environmental awareness. The materials studied were plastic, glass, metal and paper, leaving aside organic waste. The present study analyzed the recyclable solid waste of three (3) vertical condominiums in the city of Santos. The TG Condominium  with 300 apartments, AP  with 1,435 apartments and PC with 324 apartments. The first was to determine the resident population in each condominium, from the water consumption in the company accounts. The second was to raise the materials of each condominium found in the certificates supplied monthly by the collecting companies. These certificates presented the materials duly discriminated. The third was to compare the volumes of solid waste generated by the population of each building, using per capita production / day, as a parameter in the charts and in the discussions below.
