Abstract

The present work will present a proposal for the use of poetry slam, a form of poetic competition in which the authors declaim their lines of protest, as a pedagogical tool for students of the 7th grade of Elementary School, of the Monte Cabrão School, located in the Continental area of the municipality of Santos. The main objective of this project is to awaken the protagonism of the students involved, rescuing the respect for the diversity present in the school. In order to reach the objectives outlined, I decided to carry out an action research, since as a full professor in the Portuguese Language course, of the class in question, I was able to make interventions throughout the developed practice. From the conception of the multisemiotic, present in this cultural modality, a documentary was elaborated by the students on the subject, exploring the rupture of the peripheral poetics and the confrontations so that the slam enters the canonical literature of the school space.
