The challenges for the employability of systems analysts and developers in the city of Santos/SP: the perspective of young university students Alexandre Cangelli, Leandro de Jesus Santos, Fagner Evangelista Severo

Abstract

The use of the computers in professional activities has revolutionized Brazil in recent decades. As a result of these events, the demand for courses in Information Technology intensified, attracting the attention of many young people. The purpose of this article was to investigate if the students of the Information Systems course at auniversity in the city of Santos/SP face challenges in the opportunity to enter the labor market. The methodology adopted was exploratory, of a qualitative nature, using as a method a bibliographical and field research, applying the semi-structured questionnaire technique, directed to university students. The results allowed to observe that the great majority of the respondents faced challenges to insert in the Santista’s labor market, indicating, thus, the necessity of new researches on the subject.
