Sustainability as a business strategy: the Corporate Sustainability Index - ISE Rita de Cássia Araújo, Sílvia Lima Oliveira dos Santos, Maria Cristina Pereira Matos, Walter Barrela Barrela
Main Article Content
Abstract
Due to the questioning of society and investors by actions that minimize the negative business needs, the financial market starts to include a socio-environmental issue in the composition of its portfolios, through methods that evaluate the indicators of sustainability in organizations. This work has to do with updating companies. Bibliographical and documentary research was used to reach the objective. The result showed that of the 179 companies invited, only 41 answered the questionnaire, of which only 33 make up the current ISE portfolio, representing 12 different sectors. While adherence to the index is still low, sustainability in organizations is on track to become critical to any long-term strategic plan.
