Abstract

This work presents the analysis of the performance coefficient (COP) of an absorption   chiller, a cold water generator for air-conditioning systems in a business building in the city of  Santos-SP. The data was collected during seven days, using a computerized system of the company, to obtain the equipment variables. Mathematical calculations were applied to evaluate the mass flows, the energies removed from the icy currents, the energies provided by the hot currents and the thermal yields. The results showed that the values of the COP were close to the ideals between 1 and 2. Therefore, it demonstrated that the equipment was working satisfactorily.
