Abstract
The aim of this work was to characterize the abiotic factors of tide pools of the rocky shore of the beach of Barra do Una, in the RDS of Barra do Una, municipality of Peruíbe/SP. The sampling was carried out at low tide, where six tide pools distributed in the three zones of the rocky coast were selected. In each pool depth and abiotic factors (as temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved O2) were measured, also presence of organisms and the height of the pool in relation to slope were measured. The data collected were analyzed through the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), clustering and principal component analyses (PCA) to evaluate differences among the pool tides and zones. ANOVA test showed a significant difference between the zones. Clustering showed separation in two groups, where the pools of supralittoral zone are more distant from the pools of the other zones. Through the PCA, the physical-chemical parameters salinity, dissolved oxygen and slope height were the most evident.
