Abstract

The purpose of this study was to inventory the demersal ichthyofauna caught nearby the Queimada Pequena Island, Peruíbe – SP, as well as to assess the conservation status of these species aiming to extend the existing protection area. For this, two sampling campaigns were made during winter and summer of 2016 through trawl bottom fishing. In total, 1675 were caught which belongs to 15 families and 29 species. Nine new species have been categorized into some degree of threat, eight have deficient data and 77,96% of captured biomass do not have commercial value.
