Abstract
Environmental education can contribute to the conservation of biodiversity, in this sense aquariums are institutions that can collaborate, communicating in their exhibitions how it is possible to act in practice for nature conservation. This study aimed to compare the exhibitions of two institutions: an Aquarium in Portugal, and an Aquarium in Brazil. This research used bibliographic research and field research, with systematic observation of exposures to perform data collection in the two chosen aquariums. At the end of this study the comparison of aquariums led to an assessment of the potential of institutions' environmental education actions, which demonstrated excellent approaches in the compared variables.
