Abstract
The article compared the practice of surfing with the practice of modalities without contact with nature and to evaluate the subjective perception of quality of life of these distinct groups. Participants were 71 individuals separated into two groups, Surfing group and Non-contact modalities group, to evaluate the subjective perception of quality of life, the WHOQOL - BREF was used. After data analysis it was concluded that surfing is as effective as non-contact and more traditional modalities for quality of life perception, and should be practiced in conjunction with other modalities for a better maintenance of quality of life.
