Abstract

Knowledge of the weight-length relationship and condition factor is essential for understanding the influence of environmental characteristics on species biology. The present study sought to highlight seasonal and spatial differences in weight-length and condition factor relationships in demersal fish in the region of Queimada Pequena Island, Peruíbe - SP. The condition factor varied significantly for two species in relation to seasonality and two spatially. Although further analysis is needed to determine which factors are most determinant for observed differences, it has been shown that for some species within the same community body measurements can also be seasonally and spatially altered.
