Abstract

The São Paulo coastal zone, a region with high demographic density and great biodiversity, has been the subject of major changes. In this context the present research selected the municipality of São Sebastião, located in the north coast sector, for analysis of cartographic data and statistics published by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) to draw correlation with the changes observed in some beaches of the municipality resulting anthropic action, especially summer tourism.
