Compulsory Notification of Self-Harm and Suicide Cases Márcio Gonçalves Felilpe

Abstract

Law 13,819 / 19 was created to prevent suicide and self-injury as a public health problem. It establishes the obligation of compulsory notification to health authorities and other sectors of society. The present article intends, through the documental analysis of diplomas and official research of international and national organs, to study the proper elements of the compulsory notification in the suicide and self-injury cases, as well as the evolution of the mechanisms of monitoring, study, prevention and remediation of the psychosocial diseases responsible for triggering self-destructive behavior. The article also addresses measures to be implemented as a reflection of the intersectoriality of compulsory notification.
