Abstract

This paper presents the application of a calculation method for the design of a torispherical head of a pressure vessel according to the ASME VIII Pressure Vessel Code. Since the operation fluid is considered to be corrosive due to its characteristics, the corrosion rate will be considered – in addition to the loss of thickness due to the sheet forming operation, for the safe determination of the minimum thickness required for the arbitrated operation conditions.
