Abstract
The cooling of liquids in agitated tanks is a process widely used in industries and in people's daily lives. In this study, vertical tubular baffles were used as a heat exchanger, in which the literature on the subject is very limited. This study aims to determine and analyze the performance of the global heat transfer coefficient. A tank (50L) and a Smith turbine impeller were used. The fluid contained in the tank was cooled at different speeds, using the transient technique for heat transfer. The power generated by the turbine was measured experimentally as a function of torque. The thermal exchange analysis showed greater efficiency due to the turbulence caused in the fluid.
