Abstract

This paper has as its theme the importance of the Port Guard in public port security, an extremely relevant issue given the current globalized scenario in which even criminality operates internationally. Therefore, the objective is to analyze the role of the Port Guard in the midst of the participating bodies of the National Commission for Public Security in Ports, Terminals and Waterways (CONPORTOS), its importance as a Port Authority and an integral part of the Single Public Security System (SUSP). For this purpose, bibliographic and documentary research was developed, using deductive and systemic methods for the analysis of the collected data. It appears that the Port Guard is an important actor in the governance process of public port security, notably the relative of the Port of Santos, given its relevant participation in the most diverse actions of ostensive policing.
