Temporal analysis of fish consumption in the riverside communities of Alto Juruá RESEX Ricardo Patricio Ferreira

Abstract
This article compares data related to consumption, fishing and food security of the riverine community of the Alto do Juruá extractive reserve, created in 1990, the first created in Brazil, after the demands from the National Council of Rubber Tappers, among others. The data are part of the travel report produced by Alpina Begossi, Benedito Domingues do Amaral and Renato Silvano and publications searched through the web. The results show a greater consumption of fish in the summer and the importance of the knowledge acquired from the riverside woman. The article concludes that the most consumed species are important sources of food and can guarantee animal protein for the riverine community.
