Main Article Content
Abstract
Circular Economy (CE) is a growing study theme in Brazil and has been seen as a way to put into practice sustainable development concepts. With almost 8 thousand coastal kilometers, the fishing industry in Brazil is a very prosperous activity, endangered by the increasing amount of plastic waste and fishing gear thrown into the oceans. CE developed many solutions for the problem, but lack of communication is a barrier that prevents circular concepts of becoming more popular. This article researches the reach and comprehension of CE concepts among marine scientists. 88 people were interviewed. For them, CE concepts are still new and their popularization continues to be strict. Therefore, a knowledge exchange can be appropriate to evaluate the practical potential of circular concepts.
