Abstract
Socioeconomic development combined with the preservation of nature through sustainable and ecologically correct practices is an objective of modern society. The present work demonstrates the viability of using blocks, using concrete with plastic fragments removed from estuarine areas in its composition, the objective is to clean the ecosystem and make viable the use of materials used in civil construction. Blocks of 90x190x390 mm format were purchased. The joint analysis showed that the blocks with 5% plastic obtained a good compressive strength, the block became lighter, reducing the load on the foundations and there was a greater production of blocks with the additional plastic. The product proves useful for use in construction and helps to reduce environmental definition.
