Abstract

 This paper shows the results of a research with a group of effective teachers working in Elementary School in the public school system of a school in the Metropolitan Region of Baixada Santista. The objective is to investigate whether teachers continue their qualification, that is, whether they are looking for continuing education. The research questioned aspects of the continuing education of participating teachers. As a result, it was found that teachers intend to participate in courses, but factors such as lack of institutional incentives, distance from academic centers, high cost of courses, little offer of attractive courses, lack of teacher interest compromise continuing education.
