Abstract
Taking account the rapid growth of cities and prolonged drought in certain regions, the supply of water for human consumption decreases. To reduce the use of this resource, new methods and technologies are emerging, such as the capture of rainwater and the reuse of gray water (waste generated by baths, showers and washing machines). This study aims to demonstrate the feasibility of using gray water through an illustration of the implementation of a system, as well as to raise the economic benefits of reuse as an alternative to reduce consumption of domestic drinking water. The results obtained demonstrate the possibility of replacing the potable resource by a non-potable resource, applicable to secondary sectors, reducing the demand of water sources.
