Abstract
Santos rain channels were built with the purpose of draining the flooded plains and reducing the vectors of diseases in the region. The present study aimed to analyze the spatial-seasonal diversity of fish in the main pluvial channels of Santos. Specimens were collected at 14 sampling points in the seven drainage channels of Santos, between March 2010 and February 2011. A total of 8,238 specimens belonging to 19 species were captured. The diversity did not present significant seasonal variation, however, between channels 1, 4 and 6, statistical differences were verified, which are related to the characteristics of the communities of each channel, which are influenced by the connectivity with the marine-estuarine environment.
