Abstract

This work aims to evaluate the distribution of Phosphorus (P) in its dissolved form and of suspended particulate matter in the Cananéia-Iguape-Ararapira Estuarine-Lagoon Complex (CELCI- SP). The sampling was carried out in the spring of 2021, in 17 stations. Hydrological and hydrochemical conditions such as tide, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, suspended particulate matter, suspended organic particulate matter, chlorophyll-a and dissolved phosphorus (DIP, TDP and DOP) were evaluated. DIP ranged from 0.14 to 1.71 µmol L-1 , DOP ranged from n.d. to 0.51 µmol L-1 , and TDP from 0.25 to 1.89 µmol L-1 , with low values that do not indicate eutrophication in CELCI. In general, the distribution of hydrochemical and biological parameters in the CELCI were attributed to: fluvial inputs and tidal dynamics, trophic conditions and adequate luminosity for primary production.
