Abstract

Conveyor belts offer advantages such as continuous flow in movement and the ability to transport different types and volumes of materials. However, it is important to dimension them correctly, avoiding excessive losses of material due to slippage. This project aims to identify losses in cargo transported for various operating inclination angles of a conveyor belt at constant speed, carrying Sinter Feed type iron ore under two conditions: dry and wet (100% saturated). Triplicates of tests were carried out depositing material on the moving belt, from the maximum inclination of 30° until it was verified that there was no more loss. In general, the ore in the wet condition had less losses compared to the dry ore in the analyzed angles. The angle at which no ore loss occurs was 10°.
