Abstract

This study aimed to spatially characterize the physical-chemical and environmental quality profiles of urban streams in the Barra do Una Sustainable Development Reserve (Peruíbe-SP). The Rapid Assessment Protocol was used and the abiotic parameters were measured at 8 points. For statistical analyses, Shapiro-Wilk and Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney, Cluster Analysis and Principal Component Analysis were used. Through the scores obtained by the Rapid Assessment Protocol, the streams were classified as “impacted”, “altered” and “natural”, forming three groups in the cluster analysis. The Rapid Assessment Protocol proved to be a useful tool with reliable and accurate results as observed in the field.
