Abstract

This paper elaborates on two ecological visions, deep ecology and social ecology and the relationship of human beings with nature and the environment. With different positions, although approximate, since both seek solutions to make the coexistence between human and non-human being as fruitful as possible. Thus, the work aims to identify the contrasts between deep ecology and social ecology, as worldviews where the environment plays a fundamental role. It also aims to conceptualize deep ecology and social ecology and, based on this conceptualization, elaborate a critical reasoning between the two ecoideological currents. Using a methodology of bibliographic research that allows the collection of information that makes it possible to respond to the outlined objectives, it was verified that what prevails is the relationship between human beings and nature, with the ideas of both currents seeking to find the best solutions and strategies that enable a harmonious coexistence without prejudice to the future, respecting nature.
