Use of Vegetation indices to compare the period before and after the creation of the Piaçabuçu Park UC in Praia Grande - SP Luiz José da Silva, Fabio Giordano, Renan Braga Ribeiro

Abstract

The NDVI and SAVI values for a given area in the municipality of Praia Grande was calculated by taking The QGIS software raster calculator within the area detected by satélites imagery in the years of 1986 and 2008. The change through the temporal variation of this index value for the municipality give us na idea of vegetal biomass maintenace over the years due to a Conservation Unit Area (Piaçabuçu Park) held in 1996 in order to protect urban expantion.
