Data Coverage and Shortfalls of the FishBase Platform on Rivulidae Species from São Paulo Ana Gabriela Castilho, João Henrique Alliprandini da Costa, Ursulla Pereira Souza

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the comprehensiveness of FishBase data for 10 Rivulidae species from the state of São Paulo, considering their threat levels. The results show significant deficiencies, particularly in biology and reproduction, with greater gaps for species classified as "Critically Endangered" and "Least Concern". Although FishBase is widely used, there is a lack of specific data for these species in São Paulo, indicating the need for further research focused on the ecology and biology of this extremely threatened group.
