Abstract

This article discusses the importance of humanized childbirth and welcoming pregnant women and their newborns, given the vulnerable moment that women find themselves in during childbirth. The tranquility of humanized childbirth provides the security that women need, allowing them to be heard and to make important choices at the time of delivery. The support of professionals before, during and after childbirth is essential for a positive outcome for mother and baby. Humanized childbirth has specialized practices for its practice, which dispense with obsolete and unnecessary methods, ruling out any violence in childbirth (obstetric violence). Studies show that humanized childbirth in Brazil is highly recommended, both for the health of the mother and the baby, as well as being economically viable for the state in the long term. The aim of the study is to gather information from studies already carried out in Brazil on the practice and benefits of humanized childbirth.
