Abstract

This research focuses on investigating new ways to increase the safety index of electric car charging, from the perspective of electrical engineering. Due to the increasing production and sales of this type of car today, studies on its charging and how it can impact the safety for users and the electrical grid are of paramount importance. To compose the analysis, the objectives were specifically to identify the essential factors that involve the safety of electric car battery charging and to discuss the demand for charging, its challenges and opportunities. The results demonstrate that depending on the type of charger used and the quality of the battery, its management system and the ability to detect and respond to failures are crucial.
