Fuel Gas Interchangeability Assessment for an Industrial Furnace Alexandre Tiago Martins, Aldo Ramos Santos

Main Article Content

Abstract

The need for interchangeability prediction studies arose when the replacement of street gas, generated from mineral coal, with natural gas or petroleum-derived gases began. This need came mainly from the fact that burners have a small flexibility to the variation of the composition of their fuel. Subsequently, it was necessary to evaluate the performance of burners with different natural gas compositions. The current study assessed the feasibility of substituting the fuel gas used in the furnace.
