Abstract
The treatment of chronic pelvic pain (CPP) is challenging due to the tendency for pain to progressively worsen and the high rate of symptom recurrence. Given its physical and social repercussions, it is essential to invest in the study of alternative therapies. This study aimed to investigate the scientific evidence for the medicinal use of cannabis in PCD and its legal framework, through a narrative search. The studies show promising partial results in pain control, but are still limited in their conclusions; while in the legal sphere there is a disparity between recommendations from representative institutions and the absence of a specific provision in the law regulating medicinal use. There needs to be a synergistic progression between legal debate with regulatory clarity and an improvement in the quality of scientific evidence supporting its use.
