Abstract

 Environmental protection is a subject that is addressed on a recurring basis and whose discussion is extremely important, due to the damage that society's behavior, due to its commercial activity, inflicts on the environment, with serious damage also to human health. The mining industry is one of those that causes the most impacts, both in economic terms and also in terms of environmental impact. This work aims to present the mining sector where solid waste can be reused. The specific objective is to explain the damage that solid waste can cause to the environment. Adopting the bibliographical research methodology, it was possible to verify that, although the solid waste generated by the mining industry is high and extremely harmful to the environment, it is possible to invest in processes of reusing them, using them in other areas of activity, like civil construction.
