Abstract

The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) is responsible for supervising the activities of the oil, natural gas, and biofuels industry in the country. Through performance-based regulation verified by audits, continuous improvement of oil exploration and production activities is sought. An assessment of the history of critical non-conformities issued in audits based on the operational safety management system (SGSO) conducted in the last 10 years shows some current challenges in managing the safety of these activities, particularly regarding the management of mechanical integrity of installations and the management of critical operational safety elements.
