Abstract

This study investigated how substrate granulometry, current velocity, and canopy cover influence the abundance of Rhamdioglanis transfasciatus and Kronichthys heylandi in Atlantic Forest streams. Using generalized linear models (GLMs), we identified positive associations of these species with coarse substrates, fast currents, and greater vegetation cover. Results demonstrate that habitat structural complexity is fundamental for population maintenance of these endemic species.
