Cargo breakdowns: Identification of the most frequent types in logistics companies in Baixada Santista Fagner Evangelista Severo, Maria Cristina Pereira Matos, Daty Costa de Souza, Carlos Roberto de Oliveira

Abstract

Logistics activities are composed of different attributions, among which, control stocks and warehouses, places where breakdowns usually occur. Damage to cargo or its wrapping interferes with the availability of goods, harms the supply chain and causes financial losses. The objective of this article was to identify the most frequent types of breakdowns in general cargo in logistics companies in Baixada Santista/SP. An exploratory study of qualitative character was used, adopting as a method, a bibliographic and field research, using books, articles and websites as theoretical support. The results allowed us to observe that dents, breaks and scratches are the most frequent types of damage in logistics companies in Baixada Santista.
