Abstract

This article aims to outline the role of law in the articulation of public policies for social reintegration of the prison population in the labor market. In this arena, will be addressed he PROEGRESSO Program of the State of São Paulo, developed in Jose Serra management and established by Decree No.55 126, of December 7, 2009, as a political paradigm in promoting the condition of citizenship, in reducing social vulnerability and, consequently, the criminal recidivism rate. This is Insertion Program of the population in prison system to the labor activity in the State of São Paulo. It will look through these assumptions understanding by the State on the role in the reintegration and the identification of the legal problems faced by the program, will be addressed the role of government and society as implementers of this public policy in the remediation of problems this social framework.
