Abstract

 The recreational fishing can be an instrument of socioeconomic development and conservation, especially in protected areas, which depends on technical documents as tools to optimize management. This work aimed to analyze the regulation of sport fishing developed in Fishing Sites and Sport Fishing Reserves through documentary research. 2 Fishing Sites and 2 Sport Fishing Reserves were identified with official creation documents, which present norms and guidelines for the development of the activity. These areas represent an advance in the ordering of recreational fishing in protected areas, however, the effectiveness in the management of protected areas depends on the use of specific documents, such as a "use plan for recreational fishing".
